Summary
Absolute Staffers is hiring Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) for one of its clients in a secure healthcare setting. This role involves providing direct patient care, supporting nursing staff, and assisting with daily living activities for patients in a controlled environment. Candidates must be comfortable working in a structured setting while maintaining high standards of care, professionalism, and compliance.Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Safely transfer and reposition patients using appropriate equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, walkers, Hoyer lifts)
- Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, blood glucose, etc.)
- Assist with feeding patients and ensuring proper nutrition and hydration
- Support nurses with clinical tasks such as wound care, specimen collection, and catheter care
- Conduct patient rounds, respond to call lights, and assist at the nurse’s station
- Perform basic diagnostic support (e.g., EKGs, screenings) and report abnormalities
- Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary patient environments
- Document patient care in electronic health records (EHR) and paper systems as required
- Communicate patient needs, concerns, and observations to nursing and medical staff
- Follow all safety protocols, including fall prevention and emergency response procedures
- Provide compassionate patient support and education within scope of practice
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (State of Texas)
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license
- No prior experience required (entry-level candidates welcome)
- Basic knowledge of patient care practices, safety procedures, and infection control
- Ability to work effectively with healthcare teams and patients in a structured setting
Work Envinorment & Setting
- Work is performed in a secure, controlled-access healthcare facility
- Must successfully pass a background investigation and security screening prior to start
- Must comply with all institutional policies, privacy regulations, and safety procedures
- Required to maintain professional boundaries and awareness of surroundings at all times
- Must be free from communicable diseases and may be required to provide medical clearance (e.g., TB testing)
- Participation in required orientation and annual training programs
Schedule
- Full-time; up to 40 hours per week per CNA
- Coverage required 7 days per week, including weekends
- Schedules assigned by supervisor and subject to change based on facility needs
Shift Timings
- Various shifts available across a 24-hour schedule
- Typical shifts may include 8-hour or 10-hour rotations
- Includes a 30-minute unpaid meal break
- No overtime authorized
